Credentialing
Credentialing is the process of gathering, validating, and assessing the qualifications of a health care practitioner to provide patient care services in or for a health care organization. symplr Provider has extensive features to facilitate and record this process.

If an entity using Advanced Privileging also utilizes Visual Cactus in side-by-side mode, it is required that the entity set their Privileges form (in Visual Cactus) to read-only using field-level security. This will prevent Visual Cactus from accessing and using old privileging/credentialing data.
Completing a credentialing process in symplr Provider typically includes the following steps.
- Creating a definition for each type of credentialing process.
- Creating a credentialing instance for either an individual provider or a group of providers.
- Gathering the necessary provider records and verify the information.
- Assessing the provider's qualifications and record the assignment of credentials and privileging to the provider or group of providers.
