Buttons and icons

There are several buttons and icons used and reused to perform actions throughout symplr Provider. Most are self-explanatory and familiar to most computer users, such as arrows indicating a direction, or a magnifying glass for searching. Some will include text; others include pop-up descriptions when you hover over the button with your mouse.

Some common types of actions performed by buttons include:

  • toggling a condition, such as sorting a column in ascending or descending order
  • presenting a list of options for your selection
  • opening a new window of information, such as search results, or a window to type notes
Tip

Some buttons can appear in a disabled state when the underlying actions are not available. Disabled buttons are 'grayed out.' Some buttons, such as Attachments on the toolbar change color when there are items to view when you click the button.
