Manage entity access to a file
You can restrict an entity's access to forms, queries, documents, reports, and other file types. Complete any of the following procedures to view and manage security for an entity.
With the appropriate security, you can manage entity access to a file and change how a filename displays.
Once a file has been activated, it is added to the list of available files to which an entity may be granted access. To grant an entity access to an active file, complete the following steps.
- Open the Entities - Master Setup system form.
- In the File Setup section, select the tab for the file type.
- In the file grid, click Add .
- In Add, select one or more files, then click OK.
- The file will be added to the grid.
- The System Administrators user group will be granted Change and Delete access to the file at the entity by default and appear in the User Group grid directly below the file grid.
- In the file grid, in the Active column, verify the check box is selected for the file just added.
- Click Save.
To view forms to which an entity currently has access, complete the following steps.
You must have the required symplr Provider security to view files accessible to an entity.
- Open the Entities - Master Setup system form.
- In the File Setup section, select the tab for the file type. All files to which the entity currently has access are listed in the file grid with the Active check box selected.
To remove an entity's access to a file, complete the following steps.
- Open the Entities - Master Setup system form.
- In the File Setup section, select the tab for the file type.
- In the file grid, select the file, then click Remove . The file is removed from the grid.
- Click Save.
To change the default name of a symplr Provider file to a name more recognizable to your users, for example, to change the Create an assignment record to "Departments" at a hospital entity, complete the following steps.
You must have the required symplr Provider security to change how a file name is displayed in symplr Provider.
- Open the Entities - Master Setup system form.
- In the File Setup section, select the tab for the file type. All files corresponding to the selected file type to which the entity currently has access will be listed in the file grid.
- In the file grid, select the file to be edited.
- In the Optional Description column, type a different description for the selected file.
Note
The optional description will be displayed only at the current entity.
- Click Save.
