Users, Groups, and Org Profiles
symplr allows you to assign specific permissions to individual users or groups of users. By default, those include the creator of the item, its owner(s), assignee(s), and members of the primary organization. However, you can also select any person with an active login profile and provide them with special permissions if you need to.
Creator - A creator is always the user who created the item. The creator is automatically linked to the item and cannot be changed thereafter. The name of the creator is displayed in the upper right corner of the item’s form. You can provide specific permissions to the item owner which may differ from permissions of all other users associated with the item.
Owner - By default, when the item is created, the creator of the item also becomes its owner. However, if the Owner control is available on the item’s form, a different user(s) or group(s) can be selected as new item’s owner(s). Usually, the owner(s) of the item has maximum access to the item among other users.
Providing permissions to the owner group means providing those permissions to all users which belong to that group.
Assignees - Assignees are users and/or groups of users which perform the actual tasks described by the item. Those users and/or groups are specified in the Assigned To control on the item’s form. Depending on your business requirements, you can provide additional permissions to (or restrict permissions of) item assignees.
Primary organization profile - An item may have only one org profile, which is specified in the Org Profile control of the item’s form. You can provide specific permissions to all users and/or groups associated with the organization provided in that control.
Other users, groups, and org profiles - Additionally, you may provide necessary permissions to individual users, groups, or organizations available in the system.
Permissions can be provided only to users with active login profile.
